Past Projects
Curious about our past work? You've come to the right place!
"Before I heard about this, I literally missed seeing and doing theatre. Once I heard about this, I was so happy that I could get into theatre again."
Millie, 9 years old
Our First Project:
Online Theatre Workshop
The leaders of Onlive Theatre worked with 14 children over the span of two weeks to create and perform an original piece of digital theatre, titled A Newcomer's Plight Scheme.
A Newcomer's Plight Scheme Plot Summary:
When 14 strangers receive a suspicious link, they each click it out of curiosity, only to find that they can't leave the video chat! Why were they included? Who caused this mess? And, most importantly, how do they get out? With an eclectic cast of characters such as Landon the 140-year-old man, Zoe the Pink Alien from Planet Orgus, and Kylo Ren from Star Wars, this original work of children's theatre will show that new friends can be found in even the most unexpected situations.

This workshop was free for all participants and free for all audience members to view! We were thrilled to help children connect to the performing arts and bring some light to our current situation.
OnLive Theatre Presents: An Afternoon of One Acts Workshop
The 21 cast members of OnLive Theatre's Afternoon of One Acts workshop worked hard over three weeks to transform three one-act plays from words on paper into creative, awesome, fit-for-the-stage productions! This showcase featured three one-act plays performed over Zoom, where families, friends, and even some of our playwrights watched from the comfort of their own homes!

One Acts Performed:
Sasha and the Pearl by Rudy Linke
12 Angry Pigs by Wade Bradford
Curiosity Killed the Cat by Dwayne Yancey
This performance was free to view, and no ticket was required to watch. Donations were accepted during and after the performance, and 50% of these proceeds were donated to All-of-us Express Children's Theatre in East Lansing, MI.
OnLive Theatre Monologue Workshop
Each child in OnLive Theatre's one-week monologue writing and performance workshop created their own character, wrote their own monologue, and performed live over Zoom in OnLive Theatre's monologue showcase. Creating and performing monologues gave our workshop participants helpful insight into how to interpret and perform monologues written by other people. However, our cast also learned how crafting your own monologue gives you freedom to perform whatever inspires you the most.

From monologues about crazy dogs to teenage crushes to sentimental words to a beloved grandparent, OnLive Theatre's monologue workshop cast told a variety of stories that made for an afternoon of entertainment and enjoyment. This group of kids made it clear that writing and performing your own work is a fantastic way to showcase what you do best.
